MESSAGE TO UNIVERSITY AND COLLEGE FRESHERS

A warm welcome going out to all freshers in the various universities as well as all Colleges of Education across the country. There is the need therefore to realize that you are on the verge of reaching the plateau level of life so far as education is concerned. Here, avoid wasting time. Albert Einstein saw time to be relatively illusive but whatever it, times waits for no man.

Education we know, goes beyond the ableness to read and write or to rattle the English like Queen Elizabeth herself. It entails a lot in disguise like the ancient Trojan horse. Here at this level, “we have come to the cross road” as Robert Frost will say. There is the probability to pass, and there is the probability to fail. Passing might be seen to be easy but what really matters is to pass and pass well.

Now, before you start following people with boisterous and recalcitrant behaviors and those clowns and jesters who should have gone into the acting field, consider these;

1. Where are you coming from?

2. Where do you want to go?

3. How was your admission fees paid? Was it a loan?

A Chinese proverb says “Teacher opens the door. But you enter by yourself”. Of course, it is the duty of the lecturer to be an eyeopener to you. You can force a horse to walk to the bank of a river but you cannot force it to drink. This is why you should help yourself always in all ways by paying rapt attention to whatever he says. It is an undeniable fact that people change either from good to bad or from bad to good at this level. This is why you should open the eyes of your eyes wide enough. Think twice! And make the right choice now.

It is obvious that the dream of every fresher is to reach FIRST CLASS UPPER. For this reason, everybody seem to be serious. Buying of books, making research, downloading PDFs of the various courses and a whole lot. The truth is that, except the Lord builds the house, the workers only labour in vain. Except he watches over the city, the watchmen watches in vain. In view of this, there is the need to cry out to God at all times.

Remember always that, Bad company corrupts good character. Walk with people who will add positive values to your stay on campus and success will be the package awaiting you. The only ship to the city of success is learning. Get on board now!
